What a difference three weeks using an Underwater Treadmill can make! Munchie, a rescued Doberman Pinscher from Miami, Florida, is getting a new lease on life thanks to a new owner and an Underwater Treadmill designed specifically for canines. Munchie was found with a severe hip infection that had him bedridden for two months. He was given a 50/50 chance of survival. Using the latest physical therapy techniques offered by the vets at Lauderdale Veterinary Specialists, Munchie is on his way to recovery. “He was against all odds and he pulled through,” said Munchie’s new owner, David Martino. “If Munchie did the miraculous recovery, anybody can pull out of any situation.”
Hydrotherapy treadmills get athletes back on the field at Stony Brook University in Stony Brook, NY
Three local doctors have donated a much needed underwater treadmill to the Seawolves of Stony Brook University. Faculty, donors and athletes praise the addition. Hydrotherapy treadmills are known for getting student athletes rehabilitated quickly with limited interruption to school and training. Underwater treadmills help athletes perform cardiatric exercises that are intended to strengthen lower extremities without risking re injury. They also decrease the likelihood that a vigorous rehabilitation routine will lead to a new injury.
